“I Will Go” – Song Story

November 2005:

Lately, I’ve been using this song from Isaiah 6 lately, especially for our outreach ministry. It starts with hearing the Lord’s voice in His presence and responds as Isaiah does, with “I Will Go.”

I wrote, “I Will Go” as part of a project that I was given by my worship leader at the time, Mark Perez. He was planning the song set and wanted me to find a song that featured the 2nd part of Isaiah’s vision in Chapter 6 of Isaiah.

So, I knew that Chris Falson wrote “Here am I Lord”–which is a wonderful song–but we couldn’t pull of the blues riffs. I rumpled through the green book and the red book (Maranatha song books) and then began to mess about on the piano.

I really enjoyed the G, Dsus groove and just started singing.

Then I paired the scripture from Romans 10:14 to Isaiah..

This live recording of “I Will Go/Refresh Me Lord” is from November 3, 2006, at Calvary Chapel South Bay’s Cafe.  It was an enjoyable evening of worship.  I lost my voice though, which you can hear during this medley.  But, you get the idea.
