04 Nov 07 Setlist-Calvary Seaside

November 3, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Here is the setlist for tomorrow’s service.  It will be just me on keys and vocals;  I am still praying for the LORD to bring the right musicians to join our team.

Why did I choose these songs?  So many in our church need healing:  physical, mental, and spiritual.  Through these songs I am hoping to guide their prayers to the LORD.  To help them see who HE is and what HE has done and will do.

Here I Am to Worship
Tim Hughes © 2000 Kingsway’s Thank you Music CCLI# 3266032

This call to worship song says it all:  he is the LIGHT of the World and HE came down, stripped himself of His glory, so that we could be with him forever.  WOW.  Here we are Lord.  We gathered here to honor You.

 Hiding Place
Jared Anderson © 2005 Vertical Worship CCLI# 4882738

Next to “Amazed” this is my favorite Jared Anderson worship song.  We run to HIM and we cling to HIM during hard times.  It is so important to already establish our hiding place with Jesus so that when we run amuck we know where to go.  Loosely based on Psam 91:1, I love the imagry in this song.  Like we’re a kid in our favorite spot.  Knowing that we’re safe.  The lyrics of the bridge espeically touch my heart:

Though my fears may overwhelm me

And troubles they surround

Though the wind rise up to take me

My hiding place is already found

Holy Spirit
Chris Falson © 1997 Chris Falson Music

This song is found on Chris Falson’s CD “A Tree by the Water.”  It is hands down my favorite song for communion but I feel compelled to use it this Sunday, regardless.  We need so much, to hear these lyrics because of our nature — we sometimes like being bitter and feeling victimized.  This song totally disarms all of that.

Here is the chord chart:  holyspiritchart.pdf

I Will Bow to You
Pete Episcopo (c) 2001 Integrity’s Praise! Music CCLI# 3262139

Again, I’m touched by lyrics.  This song is a wonderful prayer.  So often we bow down to fear, our pride, our TV, the world, anything but Christ.  We need to constantly tear down anything that makes our relationship hindered with the Lord.

Your Unfailing Love
Reuben Morgan © 1998 Hillsong CCLI# 2543440

What is so wonderful about Christ is the 1 John 1:9 protocol.  We confess, HE is faithful to forgive us AND cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. This is a great song about drawing closer to the Lord even when we are in the dark.  Haven’t you ever felt so lost and blind, but KNEW to call out to him?  That’s where this song comes from.  WOW.  It an authentic, honest prayer.

Let My Words Be Few
Matt & Beth Redman (c) 2000 Thankyou Music CCLI#3040980

When it all comes down to what’s what the truth is that HE is God in Heaven and we’re just earthlings.  Really.  Too often I want to trust in my knowlege, my plans, my strategy, my sight, my vision.. Sometimes you just have to trust in the Lord and praise HIM for who He is.  When you see Him for who He is and what He has done–suddenly all things come into the correct perspective.  So, then, we minimize our talking to hear HIM.

–Sermon: Acts 15

You Have Been So Good
Paul Baloche / Sarah Groves © 2006 Integrity Music CCLI 4662477

Before this song, “Offering” was my #1 favorite Paul Baloche worship song.  Not now.  This song at church and even our Friday outreach has become our anthem and our heart’s cry.  WOW.  We agree with YOU Lord that YOU are good.  There are so many times that I am tired or broken or hurting that I come into a place of worship and I am healed.  I have joy.  I am made whole.  That sentiment is captured in this lyric.
