Tonight we are in Hebrews 4. I’ve invited my friend, Mark Perez, to lead worship tonight. He will be on guitar and vocals. I will be on keys and vocals. Camille will be joining us on cajon. It should be a wonderful time of worship in the presence of our King.
Ok. This was the craziest night ever!
The songs were planned as follows:
- I See the Lord Chris Falson (c) 1994 Marantha Music
- Lead Me Home, Matt Mahr
- Throne of Grace
- What an Awesome God, Steve Deal
- What Can I Do?, Graham Kendrick & Paul Baloche (c) 2005 Integrity
- God with Us, (c) 2007 Mercy Me
Sound check was fine. Camille was great. Then the AMP went out LIVE during “I See the Lord.” We kept going (trying to not distract, etc.). But, after the first song my husband suggested that we go through my amp, so we made the adjustment, quicky!
Mark prayed again (that was great) and we started again with the 2nd song–Lead Me Home. The lyrics evoked emotion to him because of a friend who was suffering — we had a time of open prayer for those who are really hurting. THAT WAS AWESOME! WOW! We continued on. One lady called out “It’s almost 8:00! We have to get on with it” right when we started “What Can I Do.” So I motioned to Mark to end with that … but Pastor Kurt said, “LET’s do three more songs!” It ended up being a wonderful night of WORSHIP and PRAYER.
As a side note, “Jesus Come” by Evan Wickham is a great new song from the CCWLC 2007 Resource Disc. I hope to begin to incorporate it soon.
